Leon University
is a public university located in León (Spain) with campusesin León and
Ponferrada. This university was founded in 1979 putting together schools and
faculties that are dependents on that, more or less
existed long time ago in the city of León.

UNILEON: OTHER FACTS
- Recently the university has signed major cooperation agreements, most notably
the one signed with Washington University, which has allowed the installation
of the second León European headquarters of this university for learning Spanish, with a capacity for 500
students, and signed with Xiangtan University, which has led to the
establishment in the city’s Confucius Institute. Both universities have its own
headquarters in the city, the first in Conde Luna Palace and the second one,
provisionally, in the building of the Leon University Language Center, an ICT Centre, where the supercomputer Calendula and
practices conducted in the HP company.
- Associated with the university is also
the Veterinary Hospital of Castilla y León, where they work out the students of
the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, with influence in Asturias, Cantabria, the
Pais Vasco, Castilla y León addition, a total of 9.5 million head of cattle.
